During this faith lab, the children will paint their own chalice and paten along with baking bread and having a grape stomp. Pastor Melanie will teach them about Holy First Communion. The day of first communion will be held on Thursday April 6 at 6:00pm. At Christ the King, Communion is a choice for parents as to when their child is ready to receive this sacrament. The Communion faith lab is offered twice per year, in the spring and once in the fall. At the Lab, children will bake the bread, paint their own Communion chalice and stomp grapes. Children will see where and how Holy Communion is prepared, practice what happens at Communion, and finally, gain a deeper insight into the sacrament of The Lord’s Supper.
