POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Property Manager

Reports to: Senior Pastor


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides overall coordination and management of the facility: Security, safety, maintenance, and construction.

    a. Plans and develops work orders and preventative maintenance such as:

        > Maintain / repair ceilings, floors, doors, locks as needed

        > Maintain / repair plumbing items – faucets, drains, etc.

        >Maintain / repair lighting as needed

        >Make drywall repairs / replacement / painting as needed

    b. Performs emergency repairs.

    c. Maintains an inventory of spare parts based on our most likely needs.

    d. Performs routine inspections and maintenance checks to identify safety concerns.

    e. Oversees the safety of building occupants, ensuring emergency exit signs are visible, exterior lighting and parking lot lights

        are lighted as scheduled, and building is hazard-free. f. Monitor utility usage and building maintenance.

    g. Maintains file of Safe Material data sheets for chemicals used in or around the facility.

2. Oversees maintenance, repair, and proper operation of all mechanical and electrical systems including solar installations, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

3. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility or on the grounds, and monitors to ensure proper execution. Request and review bids, and recommend selection of contractors.

4. Acts as facility scheduler weekly to coordinate all event set ups and transitions.

5. Ensures the facility and its systems (HVAC, electrical including solar, plumbing, security, etc., are operating correctly, and maintained in accordance with the periodic maintenance schedule. Utilizes and updates current maintenance schedule list of boilers, extinguishers, smoke detectors, alarms, sprinklers, filters, etc.

6. Oversees and ensures proper operation of security and fire prevention systems of the building – door locks, security cameras, alarms, smoke detectors, sprinklers, extinguishers, etc. Works with outside agencies such as Public Safety, Health, etc., to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

7. Provides input for budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans, and monitors expenditures against budget.

8. Advises Senior Pastor and the Buildings and Grounds Board on maintenance issues and projects as needed. Works with staff to effectively identify, communicate, and resolve both maintenance and housekeeping concerns.

9. Meets with Building and Grounds Board on a regular basis to provide input in making appropriate decisions to ensure the smooth running of the building systems and property.

10. Assists Senior Pastor or church Council designees in developing plans for capital projects related to risk and property management, consistent with CTK’s strategic plan and congregational needs.

    a. Provides input on fee structure for rental usage of building.

11. Assists in hiring custodial staff.

12. Provides leadership, training, scheduling, and supervision of custodial staff, and volunteers.

13. Maintains storage areas in good order. Outdated product, retired equipment, waste, or trash are to be disposed of by:

    a. Recycling if required, and if not required, then recycling if possible

    b. Donating, if possible, to charities (i.e. ReStore, VINE, etc.)

    c. Disposal in outside trash container

    d. Compost food waste if the option is available

14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor


Property Manager Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED, and education in facility management or a related field or equivalent.

2. Three or more years experience in facility maintenance or closely related field.

3. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical (including solar), and plumbing systems, carpentry, HVAC equipment, and other maintenance related areas. Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.

4. Skills in supervision, budget management, and project management.

5. Current 2nd Class C Boiler certifications required.

6. Current driver’s license with driving record that meets CTK standards.

7. Ability to use a personal computer, and able to learn and administer planned maintenance program.8. Physical stamina to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.* 9. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, climb ladders, walk, shovel snow, plow snow, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity.


The work is performed both indoors and out, and will require travel to vendor or other types of off-site locations periodically. While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

Chef

Position Description

Job Title: Chef

Reports to: Senior Pastor


1. Organizational Purpose

Christ the King Lutheran Church (CTK) is “a caring community committed to empower all people to know Christ and to make Christ known.” One of the ways we live out this mission is by providing a weekly meal to 120-200 people from 5:00-6:00pm each Wednesday. The weekly meal is served at no cost to CTK members and people from the wider community. During the school year, this meal is served in the CTK Community Room. During the summer months, CTK serves a meal at its weekly Faith & Fellowship series during which the meal is served outdoors at CTK as well as a variety of off-site locations. This position offers creative freedom for a chef who is community minded and would like to join a great team.

 

2. Oversee food ministry for the congregation

     The Chef oversees food ministry of CTK, which includes:

  •         Planning and preparing weekly Wednesday night meals (meals run year-round with the exception of 4-5 nights a year).
  •         Overseeing supply orders and inventory through Sysco, Sam’s Club, and other grocery stores.
  •         Overseeing volunteers and staff who help prepare/serve food and/or clean-up after the meal.
  •         Preparing heat & serve meals once a month for the “Lunch for a Buck” program at Crossroads Campus Ministry during the regular school year. The meal is typically made in advance and frozen by the chef and then thawed, cooked, and delivered by CTK staff and volunteers.

 

3. Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have culinary experience and/or training as well as a Minnesota State Food Production Manager Certification.

 

4. Hours and Compensation

This position ranges from 5-7 hours per week (3-4 hours on Wednesday afternoons and other hours are flexible). Starting wage is $20/hour.

Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our Church, ages 0-4 years in a clean environment.

 

Responsibilities: 

  •        Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes; feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer.
  •        Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
  •        Stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child’s registration form.
  •        In the event of an emergency notify the parent immediately.
  •        Straighten the room and clean any toys before leaving.
  •        Communicate in advance, by phone 1) any planned absences with an advance two-week notice, or 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.

 Qualifications: 

  •        Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities.
  •        At least 16 years of age.
  •        Satisfactory completion of background check.
  •        CPR training is preferred

 Termination Policy: 

  •        Immediate termination will occur in cases of intentional verbal, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect of any child, parent, or church member. Termination may occur for failure to carry out job duties as described above.

 Shifts: 

  •        Sunday’s 9:45-11:15AM
  •        Wednesday’s 5:45-8:00PM
  •        The first Saturday of every month 9:00AM-12:00PM
  •        You will potentially have the option to work other church events, i.e. Easter, Christmas, Vacation Bible School etc. 

Pay

  •        $12-$18 per hour depending on experience
