MAY is known as a time of transitions. We look forward to warmer temperatures, gentle rains to help bring forth all the wonderful signs of a new season of life, outdoor sports, confirmations, graduations and people seem a little more joyful! We also celebrate Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.
Featured best-selling author this month is FRANCINE RIVERS. She has published numerous novels with Christion themes and uses her writing to draw closer to the Lord, and desires that through her work she might worship and praise Jesus for all he has done and is doing in her life.
ADULT BOOKS: We hope you stop in library to explore some of many books for your reading pleasure.
“The Masterpiece” by Francine Rivers [F RIV] “Author returns to her romance roots with this unexpected and redemptive love story, a probing tale that reminds us that mercy can shape even the most broken among us into an imperfect yet stunning masterpiece.”
“Bridge to Haven” by Francine Rivers [F RIV] “A wonderful and real coming-of-age story from the 1950s, when Hollywood was the dream and life could be a harsh reality. The themes are universal and timeless.”
“Her Mother’s Hope” by Francine Rivers [F RIV MAR01] “A sweeping and lyrical two-book saga that explores the depth of grace and forgiveness in one of life’s fiercest bonds, the love between mother and daughter.”
“Her Daughter’s Dream” by Francine Rivers [F RIV MAR02] “The emotional final chapter of an unforgettable saga about the silent sorrows that can tear a family apart, the sacrifices mothers make for their daughters, and the very nature of unconditional love.”
“And the Shofar Blew” by Francine Rivers [F RIV] “Pastor eagerly accepts the call to a struggling church not knowing what to expect. All was going so well, if only his wife could see it his way.”
“Leota’s Garden” by Francine Rivers [F RIV] “Author explores a theme with countless implications for our lives today: blend of characters, relationships and family secrets open our eyes to both human and spiritual dimensions.”
“Redeeming Love” by Francine Rivers [F RIV] “Timeless biblical themes of surrender to God, forgiveness, and unconditional love are beautifully portrayed and brought to life through unforgettable charactors.”

Library Lowdown
We are blessed at Christ the King to have a wonderful church library! It is conveniently located with easy access to regular church traffic, has an inviting environment for book browsing, reading a magazine, explore in more depth a special book, hold a small meeting or just sit, visit or relax in a quiet environment.
The church library is NOT just a place - - it is also a ministry opportunity! It is a “Treasure Chest” full of valuable resources all FREE and available to all using a self-checkout system any time the church is open. There are many resources in the areas of fiction, non-fiction, biographies, books in a ‘Kids Korner’ with table and chairs, reference books and even puzzles to enjoy in the library or take home.
The library is run by a volunteer committee that
meets monthly. They manage books and determine appropriate purchases of additional books and reference materials. They also prepare and rotate the book
displays in the library area, the church Prayer Room and prepare book and
author reviews.
If you currently have found the joy and convenience of our CTK Library, we thank you! If you have never been in our library, we encourage you to explore and use the wonderful resources available for your education and enjoyment.
