Church Administrator

Classification: Full-time (32-40 Hours per Week) 

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Compensation: $20-24 per hour depending on qualifications


Overview: Christ the King Lutheran Church (CTK) is seeking a Church Administrator who will work with the pastoral staff and congregation and be a welcoming first point of contact to all. The key functions of the role are office administration and serving as the central point of contact within the organization of CTK. This staff member will make a significant contribution to CTK’s mission, ensuring that all who work with us or are part of the wider community are welcomed with hospitality. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will exhibit a welcoming presence; the ability to hold and manage confidential information with discretion; is computer savvy, and willing to use or learn the church software platform; Canva; and social media platforms. This staff member joins a large staff where the attitude a “team player” is crucial.

 

Weekly Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm – other days/hours flexible

 

Job Duties:

  • 1)     Church Communications
  • a)      Prepare a weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter
  • b)     Update CTK’s website and social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram).
  • c)      Maintain electronic signage and announcements
  • d)     Maintain current information on bulletin boards, displayed in an eye-catching manner
  • e)     Prepare advertisements for various media (newspaper, radio, etc) as needs arise
  • f)       Prepare E-news and the email Prayer Chain
  • 2)     Administrative/Office Management
  • a)      Prepare congregational letters, monthly newsletters, and year-end statements
  • b)     Prepare a variety of reports
  • c)      Support the scheduling of volunteers (greeters, ushers, lectors, communion assistants and cantors)
  • d)     Greet people in a pleasant manner within a short amount of wait time
  • e)     Place orders for office supplies and assist support staff in ordering needs, communion supplies and various seasonal items, compostable products for meals and fellowship
  • f)       Stock devotionals (Christ in Our Home)
  • g)      Maintain records in church software system (Elexio)
  • h)     Perform other duties as assigned

  • 3)     Church building usage coordinator
  • a)      Schedule room usage for CTK ministries and partners
  • b)     Maintain monthly calendar
  • c)      Communicate with custodial staff if special needs are requested

nursery worker

Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children while at our Church, ages 0-4 years in a clean environment.

 

Responsibilities: 

  •        Responsible for providing age-appropriate care which includes; feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer.
  •        Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
  •        Stay until the children are secured with a responsible adult named on the child’s registration form.
  •        In the event of an emergency notify the parent immediately.
  •        Straighten the room and clean any toys before leaving.
  •        Communicate in advance, by phone 1) any planned absences with an advance two-week notice, or 2) any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.

 Qualifications: 

  •        Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities.
  •        At least 16 years of age.
  •        Satisfactory completion of background check.
  •        CPR training is preferred

 Termination Policy: 

  •        Immediate termination will occur in cases of intentional verbal, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect of any child, parent, or church member. Termination may occur for failure to carry out job duties as described above.

 Shifts: 

  •        Sunday’s 9:45-11:15AM
  •        Wednesday’s 5:45-8:00PM
  •        The first Saturday of every month 9:00AM-12:00PM
  •        You will potentially have the option to work other church events, i.e. Easter, Christmas, Vacation Bible School etc. 

Pay

  •        $12-$18 per hour depending on experience
